Our team will be on hand to answer questions, share each dog’s background, and guide you through the adoption process. You will have time to interact with the dogs, learn about their needs, and find the right fit for your home and lifestyle.

What to Expect

At the event, you can expect to meet a variety of friendly, adoptable cats of different ages and personalities. Our team will be on hand to answer questions, share each cat’s background, and guide you through the adoption process. You will have time to interact with the cats, learn about their needs, and find the right fit for your home and lifestyle.

How It Works

  • Visit an adoption event or fill out an application to schedule a meet and greet to spend time with the dog or cat you’re interested in.

  • Our team will share what we know about the animal’s personality, behavior, medical history, and what kind of home would be the best match.

  • Fill out the Dora’s Dawgs & Katz adoption application with your contact info, household details, and pet experience.

  • We review your application to make sure the animal’s needs match your home, schedule, and lifestyle. If we need anything clarified, we will reach out.

  • Depending on the animal and situation, we may do a quick home check, landlord verification, or vet reference check.

  • If you have other pets or family members, we may schedule a meet and greet so everyone can be introduced safely and calmly.

  • You will review the adoption terms and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover medical care, food, and rescue costs.

  • We complete the adoption agreement and provide any available medical records, vaccination history, and microchip information.

  • You’ll leave with guidance on the transition period, including food recommendations, routines, and how to help your new pet settle in.

  • We stay available for questions after adoption and love receiving updates as your new family member adjusts and thrives.
