✨ Meet Hazelnut 🌰🐾 a sweet & gregarious, free spirited, 2-years young, Beagle mix girlie 💕
Hazelnut’s journey to us was not an easy one. In March of 2026, Hazelnut was found roaming the streets in a pack of 9 dogs where she wound up at the county animal shelter (BARC). After a mere 3 days, ended up on the euthanasia list, because as usual, the shelter was over capacity. At the last second, an individual stepped forward & adopted her. This could’ve been the happy ending Hazelnut had hoped for; it wasn’t. After roughly a month, she was found loitering at a McDonald’s in Spring, TX. The individual who initially “saved” her from being euthanized was not interested in having her returned. Thats when Hazelnut moved in with us. At first, she was nervous & rightfully so.
Today, Hazelnut is exuberant & eager for human companionship. Out in the play yard, she solicits attention from volunteers like a hot-dog vendor on a busy, city street: “Step on up! It’s me; Hazelnut! Come on in! Come hang out!”
In traditional Beagle fashion, she treats her walks like she’s reading a newspaper by sniffing out & exploring all the good smells.
Hazelnut would make a great addition to an outdoorsy family that keeps her included, active & (most importantly) considers her as a non-negotiable member of the family💗
