Meet Scott🍀, just a silly, sweet watermelon-head, who looks at us with sad eyes & sees the world with a hopeful heart ❤️🩹
It was a cold, but seemingly average, Tuesday morning Scott was dumped & delivered to us in a crate by our dumpster. When I got him out of the crate, he pancaked to the ground & wouldn’t take any chicken I offered to coax him into the warm crate I had hastily slopped together. In the span of just a few minutes, I was able to gently lead him inside without a struggle. The moment you witness a “big, bad bully” abandon hope & give up, is always a pivotal heartbreak. But there is also nothing quite as inspiring as witnessing how resilient these creatures are & how beautifully they overcome their past heartbreak.
Today, Scott greets the people with happy “aaaa-woooo”s, easy on a leash, enjoys chill games of fetch & intentionally seeks affection. Scott is one of the most un-reactive dogs we have, walking past dogs who growl, bark or lunge at him from behind fences, barely noticing them at all. While Scott loves his walks, he also minds well in the yard, finding a nice warm spot to relax while he waits, or, if he feeeels like it, may entertain a human with some mild fetch 🎾
Sometimes Scott is a little awkward at first introductions, but a stroll around the block goes a long way with putting social pressures at ease & opens up rather quickly.
Scott has no problem sticking his big head of his in your lap to ask for some soft pets in between the eyes or solid pat downs along his side. Scott definitely has a stubborn, sassy side but accepts direction & correction very well. So go easy on him…just not TOO easy 😉♥️
Scotty-boy would be an easy guy to have around; mild-mannered, comes when he’s called, goes in his crate peacefully, walks easy on a leash, knows basic commands, & house-trained.
Scott is looking for a home that has chill vibes, loyalty, chew bones galore, an easy routine, a human to snuggle with & take him places to explore 💛
